We cater to individuals ranging from recreational martial artists to competitive fighters. We offer co-ed martial arts and fitness classes.
Daniel "The Machine" Hernandez is a martial artist, workout enthusiast, certified trainer, and nutritional coach. He earned the nick name "The Machine" from former training partners due to his relentless drive and determination both inside and outside of the gym.
Daniel has over 10 years of mixed martial arts (MMA) experience. His primary martial arts are American Kenpo Karate, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Shoot Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Daniel’s vision is to use mixed martial arts and Kickboxing to help individuals get the results they desire through a fun, dynamic, and non-traditional workout. He believes in promoting total body fitness which includes improving endurance, strength, speed, agility, balance, coordination, range of motion, and flexibility. Daniel utilizes multi-joint, functional movements that maximize calorie expenditure and improve the body's performance in athletic as well as daily activities. His training style is supportive and motivational and he relies on muscle confusion and interval training to promote health and fitness in an intense but relatively short training bout.
Carmen hails from New York City and was introduced to martial arts when she was 15 years old. She has years of experience in Capoeira, a Brazilian style of martial arts that rhythmically fuses dancing with fighting. Carmen began training at Ultimate MMA Fitness as a member and demonstrated a passion for learning and teaching from the start. She rapidly progressed to Assistant Instructor aided by her background in martial arts along with her ability to learn quickly and communicate effectively. Carmen’s desire to teach and train others, has led her to pursue a personal trainer certification. Additionally, she is actively involved in learning components of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, boxing, and Muay Thai. In her sessions, she advocates proper technique and correct body mechanics to maximize power and reduce the risk of injury. Carmen aspires to reach out to the community and show people that fitness can be fun, and health and wellness are achievable for everyone, regardless of size, age, or experience.
Mr. Glenn Haley has over 30 years of martial arts training. His primary art is Kenpo Karate but he also has experience in Boxing, Muay Thai, Judo, Shoot Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Mr. Haley has had an extensive point-fighting and sport karate career. He fought as a member of the John Sepulveda USA Fight Team in Denmark (1999) and Ireland (2001), competed at countless tournaments and placed several times at the famous International Karate Championships in Long Beach, CA, and won 1st place in the Mens’ Heavyweight Kumite Division at the International Championships in Guadalajara, Spain. Mr. Haley was ranked 6th in the world as Light Heavyweight by International Kickboxing Federation (IKF) with an official, full-contact, kickboxing fight record of 5-3-1 (w/ 4 KOs) and appeared on Strikeforce Kickboxing on ESPN2. In early 2012, he was a cast member and fighter on the MMA Reality TV series "Cage Quest".
Mr. Haley is a strong believer that martial artists must be well-rounded with training in multiple disciplines. He believes in giving back to the arts so he trains and coaches recreational martial artists as well as several amateur fighters and occasionally instructs at seminars and camps across the nation.
